As I mentioned, in the previous post, the imagery for Roadside Redemption had been finished several months ago, along with the editing and the post-production.
Interestingly enough, shortly after I began to re-organize my files, and revisit the images from Roadside Redemption, I began to feel a bit unsatisfied. I found myself searching deep within myself for more, yet not knowing what it was that I wanted to was looking for.
Within a week, or so, I was pulling the Expedition out of the driveway to begin my journey to Pittsburgh – actually, just east of Pittsburgh, to the town of Latrobe where I was to deliver a one day residency program. My head was clouded and, before long, the effects of the concussion were becoming quite evident – a true blessing in disguise.
I say a true blessing because these symptoms forced me to take my time – to pull over when necessary, without question or hesitation. Because of this I was presented with two opportunities to create new images for Redemption – images (one in particular) that completely filled the void I was feeling several days earlier while re-editing the images. It presented me with the direction I was desiring, even though I had no idea what that direction was.
The image of the 18 wheeler could never have happened by chance. The timing had to be right on, as did the choice to abruptly leave one rest area and drive to another, seemingly, without any reason – other than that strong internal dialog pointing the way.
Until next time…

How awesome is that?…
