I had time to kill while waiting for my haircut appointment 30 minutes later. I drove to the parking lot, at the head of the greenway that parallels the stream, then walked down to the water’s edge. The pebble-covered beach showed signs of significant flooding during the heavy rains. Of the past several weeks. Among the mosaic of pebbles stood out this half-shell of a Black Walnut. The weathering was perfect, leaving a patina that only nature could create.
I knew immediately that I wanted to make a photograph of it! So in my pocket it went. For a few weeks it sat on my desk, begging for my attention. Today, April 20, 2021, I photographed it. And back on my desk it rests - for eternity…
